Maui has two spectacular drives. The southeast road past Hana and this one on HWY 340. Both of these drives are amazing but forbidden by rental car agencies. Really? We would have been disappointed to heed the warning and stay away. This drive, like the road SE of Hana gets dicey, but well worth it. Stay calm, be focused, and take your time and advantage of the areas of opportunity to pull off the road every so often and have a look.
