Watkins Glen

One of our planned activities was exploration of Watkins Glen.  The Glen is basically a collection of gorges formed during the last ice age, primarily carved out from ice melt from the retreating glaciers.  It is largely believed that this is the primary contributor of the Glen formation.  The entire Finger Lakes region is dramatic, formed by glaciers similar, yet larger in grander compared to our Kettle Moraine.
