Urumbamba – Ollantaytambo

Our final auto stop before boarding the train to Machu Picchu brought us to the small village of Ollantaytambo.  Here we were treated to more rich Peruvian culture including an understanding of the village construction and typical residence.  Terri had brought writing pens for the children and we arranged a stop at the local school to hand these out.  Since they were pens we went to the classroom with 5-year olds as younger children only use pencils.  The children were both shy and aggressive, some asking for two pens.  When we were finished the children thanked us and sang us a song.
