Our final stop before returning our buggy in Madrid was a visit to the aqueduct, cathedral and citadel in Segovia. Troy had researched and contemplated more suckling pig, but we opted for a lighter brunch in Plaza Mayor prior to negotiating the metropolis of Madrid.
The architecture of the aqueducts defy their age and were certainly “built to last”. The cathedral construction began in something like the 15th or 16th century, but was not completed until the 19th century reportedly making this the last gothic cathedral to be completed in Spain. The citadel is reported to be the model for the Disney castle. You be the judge.
