I got up in the middle of the night to see if it was dark and it was. First time I have seen a dark night since January 6. During the day, I spent some time on the 8th deck then went down to listen to the the lecture on Cape Horn. Around 11 am we started to see land. The waves have been a little rougher today, but still not too bad. I did end up taking a Dramamine before bed last night.
Before lunch I headed to my room to start packing and finish up most of my packing except for the few things. At 2 pm I went to the Antarctica trivia where we reviewed the things we learned. I got 13 of 23 questions right. Felt ok about that. We took in a lot of information over the last 11 days.
Then back up to the 8th floor. We were definitely getting closer to Ushuaia. There were a lot of birds and an island with some more penguins. I decided I was done with pictures, although the view was beautiful, especially getting to see the Andes mountains. Both in Chile and Argentina. At 5 pm, the excursion team put on a wonderful review. Some of it was very funny and other parts serious. One or two of the trip reviews brought tears to my eyes. Sad that it is over. It really was a great trip. So beautiful and untouched.
Around 7:20 pm we docked in Ushuaia. It wasn’t until during dinner, we found out we wouldn’t have to take a Covid test to get off the boat. One more hurdle overcome. Now I just need to pass tomorrow’s Covid test to get back in the states and I am home free!
