In 2006, 4 turned 40, and 2 turned 44. We thought, what a better way to acknowledge the milestones but with a group trip to Hawaii. We had a 6 bedroom house and struck out from there for many an adventure.
Akaka Falls
Sort of a must see, this was one of the few places that the entire group explored together.

Rainbow Falls
Fairly close to Hilo. It rained, then it rained some more. Glad we stayed in the Kailua Kona area.

South Point
The other group exploration day came when we attempted to make it the Volcano Park. The road from the West was washed out, and we had no patience to turn back, cross the island over to Hilo and attempt an approach from the northeast. We heard from some Locals that the road was open to South Point so that became our destination.

Waipi’o Valley
Kay, Damon, Jeanie, Troy and I headed out to Waipi’o Valley. Kay and Damon had explored the area in a past trip. The grueling drive (better than walking) down a near 45 degree slope is not for the faint of heart. Once down we spent the entire day hiking, body surfing and relaxing on the beach.

Hawaii Fishing
Our fishing guides couldn’t catch a darn thing, but we enjoyed the ride.
