First day in Ecuador. We headed to a volcanic area – Teleferiqo. We started at 9,000 feet above sea level and headed up to 14,000 feet via a gondola. We then walked up another 500 feet or so. Some of the group decided to ride a horse vs hiking. The views were amazing! And the air was very thin. Lunch was at a small cafe on the volcano. After lunch we went to a few different shopping areas. Took advantage of the reasonable prices and ended up with an alpaca scarf, a poncho and two necklaces. Headed into town (Quito) for dinner – Casa Los Geranios. Seems the Ecuadorian’s eat guinea pig as well as Peruvians. Chose a different item on the menu. 🙂
