Cinsault

Born July 22, 2014 and every year in mid-July I have to check when his birthday is. For some reason I keep thinking it is the 23rd. His formal name is Sommit’s Swartland Cinsault. How you ask did he get such a funny name. In 2013 on a trip to South Africa, we were at Sadie Family winery drinking a 100% Cinsault wine (Pofadder) with Eben Sadie when the inspiration arose “Let’s get a chocolate lab and name him Cinsault”. The rest is history.

While Cinsault came after Murray, he did get to spend a few years with Maxx and to date has spent his whole life with Porter. Cinsault (sometimes referred to as “bean” and sometimes as “Tigger”) is a true momma’s boy. I can’t sit on the couch without my 75 lbs lab laying on my lap. My goal was to have him be my first utility dog, unfortunately Cinsault is dog reactive and can cause quite a fuss around other dogs. So instead he is training on scent works, which he really enjoys.
