May 15, 1990 – November 14, 2002

Barney pretty much thought he was human.  You can find photos of him throughout the site, these are a few of our favorites.  He was born in May of 1990.  In the fall of that year the camera fell to the ground and popped open, exposing all of his puppy pictures. 

Barney was diagnosed with mass cell tumors twice.  Once in the late nineties which was successfully fought off with surgery and steroids.  The second go around was a bit more rough – grade 3 mass cell tumor deep into his hind leg.  With surgery and chemotherapy it gave him a good quality of life for 17 weeks.  Barney was a dog every day of his life.
