Happy New Year! We had a full day of touring today. We started by going to a viewing point near the solar temple and took some pictures. We then headed to the Solar temple. It was opened in 2000 and a lunar temple is currently being built. They had different essential oils and jade for sale. They did a balance demonstration with the jade saying that you have better balance when you wear the jade. Pretty convincing as I was one of the people they demonstrated with. We then saw Ortega Manila’s paintings and he was also at the gallery. He painted a picture in under 2 minutes! From there we headed to lunch. I bit the bullet so to speak and tried the guinea pig. It was greasy and tasted a little bit like duck.
We then went to the equator where they had some demonstrations about how the gravity pull is different on either side of the equator. Took some pictures then headed over to Quito. Since it was the first of the year, none of the shops were open. The last stop was a shopping mall to eat. Unfortunately, none of the restaurants were open. So we headed back to the hotel for our final dinner. At the end of dinner, they brought out a birthday cake for me. How considerate!
